We just got back from a wonderful trip to Houston to see Josh, Leila, and Cora. It was good be with family. They had just gotten back from a long trip to New Mexico and Utah, so we appreciate them letting us come. They were house-sitting for some friends who live down the street, so we got to stay there instead of pack into their apartment. The people who live there were in Bolivia. He is from La Paz, where I served my mission. He was actually there the night we got there and we got to meet him. On Saturday we went to the zoo even though it was a hot summer day. It was fun and we were able to do some indoor stuff to cool down. The highlight was their great elephant exhibit. They had a male in with the two females and the two babies. The little male baby was playing with his dad. That is pretty unusual for elephants. On Monday we went to the Johnson Space Center. We got to see lots of neat things (see captions below). On Tuesday David and I got to go to the temple (theirs is a lot closer than ours, and babysitting was easy to arrange). Then, we watched the kids while they ran some errands. Josh started back to work on Wednesday and we drove back home. David started back on Thursday. It worked out great that David and Josh had off at the same time and we could all be together. Thomas loved playing with Cora. He called her "niño" or if she was lucky, "niña." They loved eating at the little table together. When I told him we were coming home he said, "No, niño." He didn't want to leave her.

Here's Stuart, Thomas and me at mission control. This is the original room where they controlled the early space missions. The current mission control is in the same building just a few floors away. We took a tram to get to the places that are actually on NASA property. When were were done with that part Thomas told David, "I want nother choo, choo."
This is the astronaut training facility. David and Thomas are standing in front of the full size replica of a shuttle that the astronauts use to train.
This is in the museum that has lots of space artifacts. We got to touch a moon rock! It had lots of neat stuff. This of course is not a real space shuttle, just a good photo op.
Here we are enjoying the 100 degree weather and the mosquitoes. Stuart liked the swing, but we weren't out there much.
Here is Stuart in the piranha tank at the zoo! (Somehow this picture got out of order.) They had a fun little tunnel to crawl through. Thomas was not interested in being in there with the piranhas, but Stuart didn't mind.
