Okay, so I apologize now, I may have gone a little overboard on the pictures, but we had a great time and did so many fun things! As soon as we heard Josh and Leila were moving back to Houston, we decided we needed to go visit them as soon as they got settled. The boys were really into space by then and we wanted to take them to the space center. Josh and Leila bought a house in September and we decided to go there for Thanksgiving. We were going to go for over a week, but then David found out they won't let him work from out of state and we had to wait until Monday afternoon to go, but that still gave us five full days. We found out before we went that Leila's family (Mom, Dad and two younger siblings) would be surprising her on Thanksgiving morning.
When we stopped to go to the bathroom and get PJ's on Heidi helped herself to Thomas's seat and his snack. She was so pleased with herself. We got to borrow David's parents' van and it was nice. We brought a long armed grabber to pass stuff back to them.
Josh had taught Cora how to place checkers and so they decided to teach Thomas. He loved it and we are playing at home now.

They had a simulator where you could pretend you were flying and landing the space shuttle. This was Thomas's favorite part.

Stuart's face says it all! We got them matching space shuttle shirts even though they are way too big.

Cora is a very good reader. It was nice that she could read to the boys.
I told Thomas in passing once that we might be able to go to the beach when we went to Houston and he talking about going to the ocean from that point on. He was very excited to go to the ocean. We found out that there is a free ferry that goes from Galveston to a smaller island. We thought it would be a good way to go out on the ocean. As a bonus we saw dolphins from the ferry. It was so awesome!
We got Josh to take some "couples pictures" of us. These are two of my favorites. It was nice to have extra hands and get some good pictures!
On the way back some people were feeding the seagulls off the back of the ferry, so we joined in. They would come take the food right out of your hand.
It was chili as you can see by the jackets, but I decided that I would get in the water anyway and almost everyone followed. Heidi was a little shocked when a wave came in. I think we had to hold her after that and Stuart wouldn't try it.
Thomas was excited to see the ocean and loved it. We made a sand castle (a very small quick one), put our feet in the water, collected seashells and drew in the sand.

The trip was everything we hoped it would be. We even got to go out on a triple date. We left Leila's teenage brother and sister with the kids and went out to dinner. It was my first time having Thai food. I always thought it would be too spicy, but not everything is. I really liked it.
