Update on Stuart

Next up, my Stuart.  

Stuart has been very attached to his "sheeps blanket" from the time he was very little (like 4 months old).  It was just a thin blanket to start with and he loved it a lot including rubbing on the corners to go to sleep.  A couple of times it got holes or rips and I had to cut part of it off and hem it up. After I did this for the third time he found some pieces and decided he liked carrying around the little strips of blanket, so I let him have a couple and hid the rest.  Well, he found those and so we had this pile of strips.  We started carrying them in our pockets so we would have one when he asked for it.  Sometimes he would suck his thumb and feel one all the way across and then ask to choose a new one.

Stuart is standing on our bed!  We got an air bed (a knock off Sleep Number) and it came in these two boxes.  Also, Stuart loved his pumpkin shirt and wore it all year long.  (I especially love that he thought it went well with these red shorts.)

Stuart loves to swing.  We have definitely gotten our $5 worth out of that swing.

Stuart stopped taking naps at about two and a half, but some days he still needs one.  He used to just fall asleep in the funniest positions.

Since Stuart is a Christmas Eve baby we always give him a half-birthday (he says burpday) party.  It is a way to spread out the presents and be able to focus on him, not cram it in with everything else going on.  He is showing one of his tiny animals here.  Stuart loves squishy things.  He loved the little squishy animals we saw at the Museum of Discovery, so we got him a whole bunch for his half birthday.  Each one is only about the size of a dime.

Stuart's cousins were able to be there for his half-birthday party.  Here you can see Daniel.  One of his presents was this bike helmet and he also got a big set of Magnatiles from Grandma, which are a favorite toy around our house.

There were some petroglyphs at Dinosaur National Monument and we all went to see some close to the road.  Then, there was a sign for some more a little further off the road.  Thomas didn't want to go, so Heidi and I stayed in the car with him.  Stuart and Daddy went on a journey, but never found anything, but they had fun!

Before we left for Utah we couldn't find Stuart's blanket.  We took some of his pieces of his blanket and called it good, but they are very hard to keep track of.  Grandma Stewart asked Stuart one day if he wanted a new blanket and let him pick out some fabric from what she had and then sewed up the edges for him.  Now he loves his turtle blanket as much as he loved his sheeps blanket.

Daddy took the boys along with Harold and Zeke, down to a place outside of Delta, UT to dig for trilobites.  They were given pick axes and just broke rocks open and looked for the fossils.  They found a lot and had great fun!

This is how Stuart enjoyed The Great Salt Lake.  His knee hurt that day and he refused to walk.  He was fine by that night.

This is the pumpkin that appeared in our garden while we were in Utah.  It just sprung up from the compost!  The kids were excited even though it was way too early for Halloween.

I found these from when I used to teach.  They are called Wiki Stixs.  We had a lot of fun making letters and shapes with them.  Stuart really loved them and carried them around and squishing them into balls.  Finally, they got too dirty and squished to use.

Stuart learned how to ride the balance bike!  He wasn't interested at first and wouldn't try when I tried to get him to, but before long he decided himself he wanted to do it and then it only took him a couple of days!

They dropped off the excavator they would be using for the tornado shelter the night before they put the shelter in.  The kids had a lot of fun playing on it!

Stuart loves the tornado shelter.  He always wants to bring his toys in and play in there.

Stuart is our fun, mostly easy going little boy!
